WIXOM, Mich. (AP) - Michigan voters are getting what may be their only chance to watch Democrat Virg Bernero and Republican Rick Snyder debate live head-to-head.
The two major party candidates to become governor are scheduled to meet Sunday evening at a Detroit Public Television studio in
Wixom. The hour-long debate will be aired live on several stations around the state and may be shown on a tape-delay basis by others.
It's hosted by The Center for Michigan, a nonpartisan group based in Washtenaw County.
Bernero has trailed in polls and has wanted more debates. But Sunday's showdown is the only one scheduled before the Nov. 2 election.
Bernero is the mayor of Lansing. Snyder is an Ann Arbor businessman.
WCMU (Channel 6) will have the event live starting at 7.
