(AP) -- Michigan lawmakers have wrapped up all the major votes needed to complete the state budget for the fiscal year that begins Friday.
The last round of budget bills was on their way Wednesday to Gov. Jennifer Granholm. The last major vote came in the Republican-led Senate, which passed the transportation budget.
Michigan lawmakers missed the annual deadline to balance the budget in two of the past three years, but were determined to get the job done on time this year.
Several state programs will face budget cuts under the new spending plan. Michigan's public schools stand to get some previous reductions restored.
