GRAYLING TWP. -- A Monroe County woman is hospitalized after a driver backed into a gas pump at a truck stop in Crawford County.

It happened around 11:54 a.m. Friday at Charlies Country Corners on Four Mile Rd. in Grayling Township.

Deputies say an 88-year-old Grayling man was trying to back out of a parking space when he said his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal.

The car accelerated quickly and hit a gas pump that the victim was standing next to.  The pump was shoved off its base and hit the woman in the head.

Debbie Luna, of Dundee, was taken to Grayling Mercy Hospital and then airlifted to Saginaw St. Mary Hospital for treatment.
