CHEBOYGAN CO. -- A driver is sent to the hospital and a horse is dead after a crash in Cheboygan County.
It happened in Koehler Township near M-33 and Hackleburg Road around 5:40 Thursday morning.
Deputies say Audrey Piippo from Indian River was traveling northbound on M-33 when a horse ran in front of her vehicle causing the collision. The horse was struck and died at the scene.
The horse escaped from a fenced in area. The accident remains under investigation.
