BITLEY (AP) -- A hunter led authorities to more than 400 marijuana plants under aspen trees in the Manistee National Forest in western Michigan.
The U.S. Forest Service says the plants were at least 4 feet tall and fertilizer likely was used to enhance their growth. Some were tied to stakes.
The marijuana patch was discovered Sunday in northwestern Newaygo County.
Two men suspected of tending the plants were arrested. Forest Service agent Ron Brouwer says they had a tent, sleeping bag and food.
They're in jail after being charged in federal court in Grand Rapids.
