(AP) -- The federal government says it's making more than $5.5 million in funding available in Michigan to help eligible low-income homeowners and renters meet their home energy needs.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Monday announced the funding.
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program contingency funds will provide additional assistance to help pay heating and cooling costs.
The funds also can help weatherize homes of eligible residents.
