Interlochen armed robbery was fake according to report

INTERLOCHEN -- The armed robbery at the EZ Mart in Interlochen was staged according to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's report.

7 & 4 News has learned that the gas station clerk, Vincent Kelly, has been charged with filing a false police of a felony and embezzlement.

Surveillance video of the crime showed two men robbing the convenience store on July 12 armed with a long gun.  According to the report, Vincent Kelly provided a written statement to investigators stating that the robbery was staged and that it had originally been planned two to three weeks prior.

The sheriff's report also states the two other suspects in this case, Ryan Serens and Brandon Miller, have not been located or interviewed due to the fact they have been arrested and are in jail in Sturgis, South Dakota for aggravated assault and larceny.
