ROSCOMMON TWP. -- A driver and passenger are hospitalized after crashing into a house in Roscommon County.
It happened around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Village Street and M-55 in Roscommon Township.
The Roscommon County Sheriff's Office says the driver was west bound on M-55 and was travelling at a very high rate of speed. The car left the road, hit a culvert and launched across Village Street. The car hit a building wtih the first impact being about 9 feet above the ground. The car came to rest wtih about two-thirds of the car inside the building.
The driver and the passenger were taken the the hospital for treatment. Deputies interviewed the driver and said they were travelling between 60 to 70 miles per hour. The posted speed limit in the area is 45.
Deputies issued the driver a ticket for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence of alcohol. The crash is still under investigation.
