Petoskey business owners purchased the shuttered store, will open it back up
GAYLORD, MI -- In Gaylord, there’s some good news. A new Ace Hardware store is opening up.
The Meyer brothers, who own three stores in Petoskey and Harbor Springs, have purchased the former site of the Ace Hardware that has been closed since February.
The new store will be called Meyer Ace Hardware and will be located on South Otsego in Gaylord.
Owners say good business and increased demand are the cause to re-open the doors.
"We're really excited to be in Gaylord. It's a great opportunity for us. We already currently have a lot of customers that come from Gaylord to Petoskey to shop with us so we'll be able to service them in their own town," said owner David Meyer.
The Gaylord store will open on September 20th.
And here's some good news that comes along with this announcement: The store will have 10 to 12 new jobs with it.
