TRAVERSE CITY -- The 15th annual Day of Caring is coming up in two days, and the United Way of Northwest Michigan is still looking for more volunteers.
100 projects are already planned, but there are still a few wating for some helping hands. Exectutive Director, Steven Wade says, "Non-profit organizations, whether they're arts organizations, environmental organizations or human service organizations couldn't do the work they do, if it weren't for volunteers. All of them, from the cherry festival down to a little, small food pantry in Northport, need volunteers to make it go."
In addition to Thursday's activities, a Youth and Family Day of Caring is scheduled for this Saturday where people of all ages, even children, can donate their time and effort to local non-profits. To see a list of available projects CLICK HERE.
