Damaging winds have left an estimated 5,200 Great Lakes Energy members without power Tuesday afternoon throughout Great Lakes Energy's 26-county service area. The widespread outages are affecting consumer-members in the following counties:

Antrim, Charlevoix, Clare, Crawford, Emmet, Kalkaska, Lake, Kent, Mason, Mecosta, Missaukee, Montmorency, Newaygo, Osceola, Oscoda, Otsego, Ottawa, and Wexford counties.

Great Lakes Energy repair crews continue to battle the high winds which, since early Tuesday morning, have affected more than 8,600 GLE members.

Crews will continue working to restore power to as many members as possible throughout the evening. GLE members are advised to make emergency arrangements for the evening if their electricity is not back on by 9 p.m.

Current outage information by counties and townships that is updated every 15 minutes can be viewed on the Great Lakes Energy website, by clicking on THIS LINK.

Great Lakes Energy members are reminded to stay away from downed power lines for their safety and protection.

Great Lakes Energy members without power are asked to call the electric cooperative's automated, tollfree outage number: 1-800-678-0411.
