LEWISTON -- A double homicide investigation is underway after two people are found dead of gunshot wounds in Montmorency County. The suspect in the case is a relative, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The bodies of the 70-year-old man and 82-year-old woman were found 3:00 p.m. Monday at a home on Big Buck Drive in Lewiston.

The suspect is a 50-year-old Lewiston man, who investigators say was related to one of the victims.  He was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on state land in Noble County, Indiana.

Autopsies are being performed Tuesday at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.
