INTERLOCHEN -- Two people are arrested after an armed robbery at a business in Grand Traverse County. Deputies credit the two young employees for helping solve the crime.
Deputies were called to Lochenwood Putt Putt and Ice Cream Shop for an armed robbery around 9:30 Monday night. The employees told officials a man and women walked into the business with a gun and demanded cash. The employees handed over a bag of money, but were able to get a good description of the vehicle, the suspects and the weapon involved.
About an hour later the Benzie County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle matching the description. A bank bag was also found inside the car.
The ice cream shop employees were able to identify the suspects and the 23-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were both arrested.
A K-9 unit checked the area where the traffic stop took place and found a pistol in the ditch along the road. The weapon was determined to be stolen from a home in Frankfort.
