TRAVERSE CITY -- A statewide drunken driving crackdown is in affect now through Labor Day weekend.

About 200 law enforcement agencies are participating in the federally-funded plan to keep drunken drivers off the road.

The grand traverse county sheriffs department and Traverse City police are working with the county's state police post to send out more patrols until September 6.

Officers say there's a mandatory 6 month license suspension for your first offense and thousands of dollars in fines.
