ISABELLA COUNTY -- A man is in jail accused of leaving the scene of a deadly hit and run accident in Isabella County.
Isabella County Sheriff’s Deputies say the man was driving a Dodge pickup truck and hit a bicyclist Saturday night. The accident happened around 11 p.m. on South Winn Road, near West Broomfield Road in Deerfield Township.
The bicyclist, Elias Lopez, 33, of Alma died shortly after the accident. The driver of the pickup took off.
Deputies identified and arrested the driver of the pickup truck on Sunday. Investigators say he is 30 and from Weidman. His name is being held pending an arraignment. He’ll face several charges including leaving the scene of a deadly accident.
