CHEBOYGAN -- Criminal charges have been re-filed against Cheboygan County Drain Commissioner Dennis Lennox after he failed to complete his required community service.

The Prosecutor filed the charges Friday.

Lennox is accused of using county postage for Christmas cards he sent out last year.  The cards were used for his run for political office with a request for votes and information on his campaign website.

Lennox entered a deferred agreement with the Prosecutor's Office in March where he was required to complete 25 hours of community service.  He also issued an apology at the time.

The Prosecutor says Lennox submitted a community service log Thursday which mainly consisted of political events involving his run for the 105th District State House.  Officials say it does not meet the terms of the agreement.

Lennox faces up to one year in jail and a thousand dollar fine if convicted of the charges.
