TRAVERSE CITY -- Police are trying to find the people responsible for breaking into two Traverse City businesses.

The Marathon gas station on South Garfield Avenue was hit by a burglar sometime before 5:27 a.m. Thursday. The person forced open a window and got away with an unknown amount of money.

Slab Town Burgers on West Front was also hit by thieves overnight.  The owner of the restaurant says nothing was stolen but the crime is a reminder of what happened at the end of July last year.  That's when a break-in nearly shut down the business, because so much money was stolen.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact the Traverse City Police Department's Detective Bureau or the Silent Observer tip line, 231-947-TIPS.
