MONTCALM CO. -- Four children are recovering from burns and numbness after they were struck by lightning in Montcalm County.
It happened around 2:11 p.m. Thursday at the Rock Lake Methodist Bible Church on Pine Grove Rd. in Richland Township.
The children. ranging in age from 10 to 18 years old, were standing near a baseball field huddled under umbrellas when they were hit by the lightning. All four were knocked down to the ground.
Two of the victims had more severe injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Grand Rapids. The other two victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
