TRAVERSE CITY -- Dog owners are banding together in hopes of getting a park for their four legged friends.

The Traverse City/Garfield Township Recreational Authority is encouraging pet owners to support a private effort to make it happen.

Officials with the Recreation Authority say they currently do not have the resources to develop a dog park, but are supporting the grass roots effort to raise funds for the development, operation and maintenance of a private dog park in the area.

Those interested in creating a dog park are asked to contact Brandi Gleason at 231-392-4011 or brandigleason@aim.com
