Cherry Festival Receives Global Visits
TRAVERSE CITY -- People from all over the world are traveling to the National Cherry Festival.
At the main entrance sits maps where visitors can pin a tack on the city they are from. Several tourists 7&4 News talked to are from North Carolina, Texas, Canada, even Korea.
Jevonne Jong of Korea says, “We just now arrive here. It is an exciting place. We hope to enjoy this festival.”
Sarah Harrington of North Carolina says, "I think its great everything will help the economy and make it so we can come back. It's fantastic and encouraging to see all the pins."
With each visitor that comes to the National Cherry Festival is dollars that will be spent on vendors, shops, and restaurants.
Dean Lawton, one of the festival’s venders who is from Alabama says, “This is one of our best shows. Usually this is our number one grossing show for our entire season."
