CLYDE TWP. (AP) -- Authorities will survey damage caused by storms that raked through southern Michigan and spawned at least one tornado, killing one person and injuring four others.
Seventy-five-year-old James Anderson of Mount Clemens was killed Sunday evening after powerful winds that overturned trailers and scattered debris moved through the Fort Trodd Family Campground in St. Clair County's Clyde Township.
Four people were treated with injuries.
National Weather Service officials are expected to determine Monday whether tornadoes caused the damage. Officials confirmed a tornado in the New Boston area, in southwest Wayne County, that damaged multiple homes and structures.
DTE Energy Co. officials say about 600 Detroit Edison customers should have power restored by noon Monday after 4,700 were blacked out Sunday.
