Teen Crashes Stolen Car After Chase
MECOSTA CO. -- A teenager is in the hospital after he crashed a stolen car following a police chase.
Mecosta County sheriff's officials say a deputy ran the plates on the car after a deputy noticed a tail-light was out, that's when authorities found it was stolen from Big Rapids.
The deputy tried pulling the car over just after 11:34 Sunday afternoon, but the teen fled south on Northland drive.
The deputy chased the car into Cedar Springs where they stopped the pursuit due to traffic.
About 3 minutes later, the fleeing teenager crashed on Northland drive just south of Porter Hollow. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
