KALKASKA COUNTY -- UPDATE: Friday, June 18 - Sheriff's officials in Kalkaska say someone did die in that 3 vehicle crash on U.S. 131 Thursday. A car waiting to turn left into the Save-A-Lot store north of town was rear ended by an SUV. That crashed pushed the car in front of a Jeep headed the other way. The impact caused the car to catch on fire. Witnesses helped pull the 4 passengers out. One of them 71-year-old Jimmie Chambers was killed. The crash is still under investigation.
