MONTMORENCY CO. -- A mother and father have been arrested for the death of a newborn, found in a dumpster in Vienna Township in April.
Krystal Lynne Taylor, 18, was arrested Wednesday on charges of manslaughter and concealing the death of an infant child.
Erick Berney, 26, was arrested Wednesday on the misdemeanor charge of aiding and abetting the concealment of the death of an infant child.
Officails said that Taylor and Berney are the baby's parents.
The charges stem from the discovery of a dead baby in a dumpster off Matthews Rd. on April 7. Officials believe the infant had been discarded in the dumpster on April 1, 2010. While the body was preserved due to the cold weather, the child had been attacked by birds making the autopsy more difficult.
Bond for Taylor has been set at $250,000. She will be formally arraigned on June 18. Berney's bond is set at $25,000. He will also be arraigned on June 18.
