LANSING (AP) -- The Michigan House is expected to continue work this week on budget bills for the state's next fiscal year.
The House has budget bills for transportation projects and prisons on its tentative agenda for Wednesday.
The budget bills would cover the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1.
Preliminary versions of several budgets have been passed. But the Democratic-run House and Republican-led Senate have major differences in their versions.
Senate Republicans have voted for spending cuts in several departments. House Democrats are trying to at least hold spending level in some key areas including education.
