HARBOR SPRINGS -- The North Country Kids Daycare and Preschool Academy has been a staple in the Harbor Springs community for 20 years, but they need to raise $10,000 by June if they want to avoid eviction.
“We struggle because we are a non-profit and we have to raise our funds. The last few years that was possible…but this year it’s been really difficult,” said Liz Beasley, North Country Kids.
Beasley said that community leaders have joined arms with parents to help raise money for the daycare center. “We have just been so thrilled by the response. Everybody really has come together.”
While the daycare is receiving help, they are not out of the woods yet. This weekend, two fundraising events have been scheduled.
On Saturday, a Health-Expo is being held at the Fairview Shopping Center off State Road in Harbor Springs. Donations will be accepted there.
On Sunday, Signatures Salon will host a cut-a-thon to help raise money for the North Country Kids Daycare and Preschool Academy.
