ACME TOWNSHIP -- It is crunch time in Acme Township, where time is running out on their fundraising efforts for the Acme Shoreline Project.
“We are down to about $127,000 that needs to be raised in the last couple of weeks,” Township Supervisor Wayne Kladder said.
Through fundraisers, donations and most recently a rummage sale, the township has already gathered well over $3.5 million. They must reach $4 million by June 1.
“On Saturday we held a rummage sale. We got rid of mattresses, hot water heaters, hot tubes, curtains and those kinds of things. We raised about $700,” Kladder said.
It’s their final push for a project that has been in the works for years.
“We're optimistic…we got a lot of people on the committee that are working hard to make this happen,” Kladder said.
