Hotels, Motels Receiving Suspicious Phone Calls

PETOSKEY -- Michigan State Police in Petoskey are advising Northern Michigan hotels and motels to be aware of a string of a recent suspicious calls made to businesses in the area.

The calls began last week and authorities say a male voice is on the other end. The unidentified caller tries to gain sensitive information of the hotel/motel operations. The caller also tries to get personal information about female employees who answer the phone. Authorities say the calls are not of a sexual nature.

The businesses involved are from different chains. The situation has raised suggestion that the caller may attempt a criminal act against the hotels/motels or employees.
