Collection drive for Women's Resource Center

It's Mother's Day weekend, and for two local businesses, that means it's time to help moms in need.

It's the annual "Movers for Moms" event in Traverse City, hosted by Two Men and Truck and a local radio station. The event is designed to collect comfort items for the Women's Resource Center. That includes bathrobes, slippers, shampoo and soap, beauty products, and other items.

Organizers say it's an important way to do something special for moms and other women who may need help - and who need something positive in their life.

This is the third year Two Men and a Truck has teamed up with 106 KHQ to support the Women's Resource Center, which serves victims of domestic violence in the Grand Traverse region.
