Munson CEO Steps Down
TRAVERSE CITY -- The Munson Healthcare Board of Directors announced Thursday that it has accepted the resignation of Douglas Deck from his position as chief executive officer of Munson Healthcare effective immediately. Deck has served as CEO of Munson Healthcare since Dec. 30, 2005.
The Munson Healthcare Board unanimously appointed Edwin Ness, current CEO of Munson Medical Center, to the position of CEO of Munson Healthcare. The selection of Ness is part of a succession management plan. At this time, Ness will continue in his role as CEO of Munson Medical Center.
Right now Munson Medical Center is in the process of merging with Spectrum Health, a Grand Rapids based hospital. The two hospitals have been in affiliation talks for seven months. A decision could be made by July.
