BELLAIRE -- Anne Avery-Miller, the Elk Rapids mom accused of killing her teenage son, was found hanging in her cell at the Antrim County Jail. Officials have confirmed she died at the hospital Tuesday evening.
Sam Avery was found dead in November 2007 in the families home.
He had been shot. After a long investigation Sam's mother Anne Avery-Miller was charged with his murder. Around 11 p.m. Monday night she was found hanging in her jail cell from a ceiling vent.
She was the only person in the cell at the time and had been checked on shortly before. The Antrim County Prosecutor, Charlie Koop, tells 7 & 4 News the case against Anne-Avery is dismissed and added "This is a tragic end to a tragic situation."
