HOUGHTON LAKE -- MDOT will talk about a proposed road plan for a Roscommon County community next Tuesday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will talk about the project for M-55 in Houghton Lake during Lake Township's regularly scheduled board meeting.

MDOT is planning to reconstruct M-55 from the Missaukee/Roscommon county line to US-127, beginning July 2011.  The project is expected to be complete by fall of 2011. Work includes intersection and driveway improvements as well as utility work.

The project will close M-55 down for part of the construction period.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend the meeting May 11 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. It will take place at the Lake Township Hall, 1380 Michelson Road, Houghton Lake.
