TRAVERSE CITY -- Two Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Deputies are on paid Administrative Leave after pleading guilty to a 90 day misdemeanor charge stemming from an investigation involving Traverse City Police Officer Joseph Soffredine.

Monday,  Deputy Mark Noffke and Deputy Robert Sillers pleaded guilty to Neglecting or Refusing to Execute Process.

This plea was after an investigation was submitted to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office by the Michigan State Police as well as an internal investigation completed by the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office.

After the plea both deputies were placed on paid Administrative Leave pending a due process hearing that is required for each of them.  That hearing will be held later this week.

Last month, Police Officer Joseph Soffredine was charged with driving under the influence stemming from an incident involving a fight at the House of Doggs.  He then allegedly crashed his car on Cedar Run Road.  The two deputies responded to the scene and did not do a breathalyzer test on Soffredine, or give him a ticket for expired tags.

The deputies will be back in court on May 25th for sentencing.
