March for Babies weekend in Northern Michigan
Hundreds of people got their morning off on the right foot - by raising thousands of dollars for a good cause.
It's this year's "March for Babies" at the Grand Traverse Civic Center. This year's ambassadors are the Saxton family. Jamie, Amanda, and their daughter Chloe led off the walk this morning.
The event raises thousands of dollars for the March of Dimes, which works to find the causes of premature birth and treat babies in need who are born too early. Of the money raised, 88 cents of every dollar goes to research and programs to help find ways to protect the health of newborn "preemies."
You can still join in the next event, on Sunday. It's at the Cadillac Junior High School. Registration starts at 1:00 and the walk begins at 2 pm.
