GRAND RAPIDS (AP) -- Michigan U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin say 13 Michigan emergency responder agencies will receive $4.29 million through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The Grand Rapids fire department is getting the largest grant - $2.96 million.

The Democratic lawmakers say the funding will go for equipment, training, and other firefighter and EMS needs.
