WHITE CLOUD -- The Newaygo County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man they say is armed and dangerous.
Deputies were called to a domestic dispute at a home on M-37 south of White Cloud around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
As deputies arrived they were notified that the suspect, John Amundson, had a warrant for his arrest. Two deputies confronted Amundson in the home and they say he refused to cooperate. Investigators say the man became combative and one of the deputies deployed his taser, but it didn't stop him. The suspect then attempted to disarm the deputies, with one receiving minor injuries from the fight.
The deputies were able to get away and call in backup from the Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team. A perimeter was set up around the home and two robots were deployed to see into the home. When no movement was detected, the Emergency Response Team entered the home but were not able to locate Amundson.
Anyone with information on the location of John Amundson is asked to contact the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office at 231-689-7303 or call 911.
