It happened in Grand Traverse County.  The Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to the scene about 3:00 am Saturday when a driver lost control while heading North on South Long Lake Road.

As the driver approached West Long Lake Road, investigators say the car overturned, and two passengers in the backseat were ejected from the vehicle. One of them, a 20 year old traverse City man, was killed at the scene. The other - an 19 year old man from Grawn, was critically injured and was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital.

The driver and front seat passenger were not seriously injured.  But investigators say they believe alcohol and speed are factors in the crash.

They've arrested the driver for two charges of Operating While Intoxicated - one OWI causing death, and the other charge- OWI causing serious injury.

Names haven't been released.

Three other fire and rescue crews responded to scene.
