Conservation District helps spring planting plans

This weekend marks the annual "Seedling Sale" at the Grand Traverse Conservation District.

It's an opportunity to add plants, shrubs, and trees to your property, or start something new, by buying seedlings from the Conservation District.  And the cooler weather this weekend isn't keeping people away.  In fact staff and volunteers say it's much busier than expected.

Supplies are limited, and organizers say there may not be much left to choose from as the event wraps up on Sunday. The Conservation District is on Cass Road south of Traverse City.

If you missed out, Leelanau County's Conservation District is planning its own plant sale later in April.
