TRAVERSE CITY -- It’s official – Great Wolf Lodge set a new Guinness World Record for “longest distance watersliding in 24 hours in multiple venues". More than 45,000 people joined in to help set the new record of 3,593 miles – that’s the official Guinness number. That record shattered Germany's old record of 843 miles. Arguably a greater accomplishment - the slide-a-thon raised more than $125,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters during the Guinness attempt held March 26-27. The resort in Traverse City joined in the event. Over the last year, Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City has contributed more than $16,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters, including monies donated during the Guinness Attempt.
