Up and down season for ski shops

Good sales, but low on available stock

With 55 degree weather it may be hard to think about skiing. At the Don Orr Ski Haus near Traverse City, employees say the weather has taken a toll on business recently.

But they also say their shop is experiencing what many store owners are dealing with all across the country.  It's been a busy season, but this year there's not as much to choose from.  That's because manufacturers cut back last year - meaning limited supply for ski shops everywhere. The shortage in the stockroom and out on the floor also means there's not a huge surplus for customers for the end of season clearance sales. But there are still deals to be found.

This ski shop also has beach-wear to help them keep busy all year long. Believe it or not those summer items will go out on the floor in just a few weeks.
