It happened Saturday afternoon at a home near Farwell, in the White Birch subdivision in Lincoln Township.

The Sheriff's Office says they responded to what was reported as a 'suspicious situation'... and when they arrived they found a homemade explosive device. The State Police Bomb Squad from Lansing responded to the scene to dispose of the device.

The Sheriff's office says they've arrested a 49 year old man from Farwell for being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of body armor, and possession of an explosive device.

Deputies say they also seized several marijuana plants and firearms.

There are no reports of any injuries.
