EMMET COUNTY -- An Emmet County man is arrested on several felony charges after one drug investigation leads to several other crimes.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office arrested James Lauer of Springvale Township Monday for a five count felony warrant.  the charges stem from a search warrant on February 16.

Lauer was arrested following a meth lab investigation.  A search of his home resulted in the seizures of methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana.

Sheriff Wallin states what is interesting, is Lauer was arrested on delivery/manufacturing of marijuana, but Lauer holds a medical marijuana card.  When deputies entered the home, they found a grow operation related to Lauer’s marijuana card, but it was not in a locked area and witnesses at the scene admitted to buying or receiving the marijuana Lauer grew.

Lauer is currently lodged in the Emmet County Jail facing charges on two 20 year delivery charges and three other felony related offenses.

Sheriff Wallin states the Emmet County K-9 unit was utilized and would also like to thank members of the SANE team for their assistance at the scene.
