GARFIELD TOWNSHIP -- An autopsy is underway at a Grand Rapids hospital for a woman who was stabbed to death in her Garfield Township apartment complex sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office says.

The sheriff's office and medical crews were dispatched to Village Glen Apartments, off Lafranier road, around 7:20 Thursday morning.  They found a 46-year old Shari Marvin dead inside her apartment bedroom. Her husband, 47-year old David Marvin was checked out at Munson Medical Center, then questioned and taken to jail. The Marvin's child along with two other children were in the home at the time.

Authorities say Marvin admitted to stabbing his wife during an argument about marital issues the couple was having. Authorities believe alcohol was a factor. As for the children one of the girls is in child protective services custody.  The other kids are back with their parents.

Friday morning, Mr. Marvin was arraigned in the 86th District Court. He is being held in without bond. His preliminary hearing is set for March 12th at 11:30 am.

7&4 News will be keeping in close contact with the sheriff's office throughout the course of this investigation and bring you updates along the way.
