KALKASKA -- Voters will head to the polls in one Northern Michigan community Tuesday.

Voters in the Kalkaska Public Schools district will be asked to approve a 1.87-mill bond issue for up to 18 years that would help remodel and refurnish school buildings, as well as upgrade the technology available to students.

The millage would amount to $1.87 on each $1,000 of taxable property value.

The special election is the only one Tuesday in the Grand Traverse region.
