MACKINAC COUNTY -- A Stanford man pleaded guilty to not stopping for a deadly accident he caused in Mackinac County.
Dustan Bowen plead guilty to three counts of Failure to Stop at the Scene of an accident - when at fault - resulting in death. Bowen plead no contest to three counts of Negligent Homicide, and acknowledged the sentencing enhancement of being a 2nd offense habitual offender.
The charges are a result of a crash on July 25, 2009. Bowen was driving on S. Gould City Road when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit three women who were walking. Julie Hatch, Sara Dobbrastine, and Jonel Hoogterp were attending a family reunion in the area.
Bowen faces more than 22 years in prison when he is sentenced on March 19.
