College student started idea for benefit concert

Ruth Posluszny is a college who attends classes through Ferris State in Traverse City.  After getting the support of her friends in the band "the Breakers", they agreed to put on a benefit concert to support relief efforts in Haiti. The benefit is sponsored by Phi Alpha, a social work honors society through Ferris State.

Since then, the band "Blue Dirt" and musician Levi Britton have also signed on.  Next week's benefit concert at Kilkenny's Irish Pub will also include a silent auction. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Missions of Love Hospital, which provides medical care and clean water in Haiti.

The concert will be held at Kilkenny's Irish pub on Wednesday February 17th.  The doors open at 7 pm with music starting at 7:30. There is a suggested donation of 5 dollars at the door.
