TRAVERSE CITY -- You can learn about law enforcement with some hands on training.

Spots remain open to apply for the 12th annual Citizens' Law Enforcement Academy held by the Traverse City Police Department.

The academy starts on March 2 and runs for ten weeks through April 27.  Students will learn about the divisions and functions of the police department.  They will also get hands on firearms experience and vehicle operations.

Applications are still available for those interested in taking part.  You can find more information by calling 231-995-5151, or by completing an application online by clicking on THIS LINK.
