CHEBOYGAN COUNTY -- An ice warning is being issued for an area in Cheboygan County.
The Chief of the Tuscarora Fire Department says a large pressure crack has developed on Burt Lake. The crack extends from Colonia Point (Indian Point) to Cedar Point. It's about one-mile long and about 20 feet wide with open water. With the cold temperatures the water may have froze once again but the ice in that area is only one to two inches thick.
Officials warn snowmobilers and ice fishermen to use extreme caution in this area.
