Winter festival in Leelanau County

The Boy Scouts are celebrating their 100th Anniversary this year, and in the Grand Traverse region, that means a big winter festival with scouts, their families, and friends.

It's a big party, with scouts from Kalkaska, Grand Traverse, and Leelanau Counties. Sledding is the main event at the Saturday party, including sled races and a sled design contest. But scouts are also getting free snowmobile rides, and working on teamwork by building snow sculptures.

Scout leaders say it's about having fun, but also about making the fun educational.
