GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- The Grand Traverse County Health Department is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated against H1N1, and say supplies are now ample.
Expectant mothers, children, young adults, and all those under the age of 65 with chronic health conditions are at high risk for H1N1 flu-related complications and should get the vaccine as soon as possible. Those not at high risk can protect themselves and prevent the virus from spreading to more vulnerable members of their families and communities by getting vaccinated as well.
Public health officials are concerned that a third wave of H1N1 flu will occur in the next several months. All those who have not already received their H1N1 flu vaccination are urged to get vaccinated before this potential third wave occurs.
The Grand Traverse County Health Department has scheduled walk-in vaccination clinics for the following dates and times for anyone needing the H1N1 vaccine:
Wednesdays – 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, and 2/17 from 3:30 to 5:30pm at the Public Services Building on LaFranier
Fridays – 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, and 2/19 from 8:30 to 11:30am at the Health Department
